If you need a filling in a broken or decayed tooth, we’ll fill it with a white resin filling material that is seamlessly bonded to the existing tooth, and colour matched so that it can’t be seen at all.

Smoothing down worn teeth

A simple 3-minute treatment can sometimes make a smile look 5 years younger, just by removing rough edges and irregularities. It is pain free and easy and requires no injections.

Instant Orthodontics

For isolated crooked teeth such as a twisted incisor, we can often create the appearance of a straight tooth without any orthodontic treatment, just by adding to or subtracting from the enamel. This can be done in just one appointment, with instant results.

Gum Creation

Even small gaps between your teeth can look unsightly and detract from an otherwise attractive smile; the gaps can look like black triangles stuck between the teeth. With synthetic gum, we close up the gaps and recreate natural looking gums that are consistent with the rest of the mouth.

This treatment is not offered by all dentist practices, but is an effective and value for money alternative to gum surgery. It can also be used to cover the top of a tooth to avoid that “long-in-the-tooth” look, as shown in the photo below. An example of why a gum coloured filling would have looked better than this “long-in-the-tooth” look.

Repair toothbrush Abrasion

At sensitive points in the mouth you may get stained notches at the gumline just from regular tooth brushing. These notches can be filled invisibly with highly polished, stain resistant micro-fill restorations – the best looking and most durable white filling available.

Fillings on worn away teeth

As your teeth wear the enamel is lost and the inner core of the tooth (the dentine) is exposed. The dentine is yellow and turns orange and then browner with age. Drilling out the central core of this dentine and replacing it with white enamel makes the lower teeth look many years younger, and give you a protective capping of harder, more durable material.

Lost filling replacement

If you already have fillings, but have lost one, it is important to have it replaced immediately. Learn how we can replace your filling before more severe damage is caused.

Dental Fillings Case Studies

These case studies are all Shore Dental patients. The work has been completed by Dr Ben Wilcox or Dr James Cooke at the Shore Dental practice. See more in our Smile Gallery.
