Veneers |
|
A veneer is a filling material that covers the visible surface of the tooth changing the colour, shape and position of the tooth in relation to the other teeth and lip line. There are two options available:
Porcelain veneersAre approximately the same thickness as a finger nail. They hide a variety of stains and can be used to whiten the teeth, re-angle the teeth, lengthen the teeth, widen the teeth and to cover over teeth that have become very heavily patched up and aged.
Composite Veneers on CrownsInstead of replacing a crown we can veneer it to create a new colour, and extend it to hide the effects of gum recession.
This costs about a third of the cost of replacing the crowns. It is not commonly known that this can be done. Composite Resin Veneers on dead teethDeeply stained or grey teeth can be veneered as a less expensive alternative to a crown - although crowns generally last longer.
